Who I am
I've spent a decade buying and breaking recovery gear, so you don't have to. A torn meniscus in 2018 pushed me into a year of physical therapy, and into the rabbit hole of home equipment. Foam rollers that bruise. Massage guns that quit after a month. TENS units whose pads don't stick. Compression socks that bunch at the heel. I started writing it down for friends. The notes turned into this page.
I am not a clinician. I do not diagnose, prescribe, or treat. For medical questions, see your physical therapist. For gear questions, you're in the right place.
How we pick
- Start from the listing. Current Amazon data: title, brand, specifications, customer ratings, and review count. Always at least two alternatives in the same category.
- Stress-test the spec. Density, channel count, decibel level, mmHg compression rating, warranty length, return policy. We name the trade-offs.
- Write what we'd tell a friend. Including specific reasons to not buy. Every roundup picks a number one and at least one Skip.
- Disclaim early. Affiliate disclosure above the fold. Medical disclaimer on every product review.
What we won't do
- No medical claims. We don't say "cures," "treats," "heals," "FDA-approved," "clinically proven," or "doctor-recommended."
- No fake urgency. No countdown timers, no "Only 3 left," no exit-intent modals.
- No "Top 10 You NEED" headlines. A ranking must rank. Neutral lists are slop.
- No fictional medical team. One editor, one byline, one set of opinions. No stock-photo "DPT advisors."

Editorial standards
Every page hits the same checks: minimum two alternatives compared, no numeric prices in HTML (Amazon ToS), affiliate links use rel="sponsored nofollow noopener", last-reviewed-date updated on any edit. Read the full Editorial Standards page.
